Στην νεκρόπολη της [[Άβυδος|Άβυδους]] όπου έχουν βρεθεί οι τάφοι όλων των Θινιτών [[Φαραώ]] του αποδίδεται ο τάφος U . Ο τάφος αυτός έχει συληθεί ήδη από την αρχαιότητα , από τα λίγα ευρήματα είναι μικρές πλάκες με οπή στη μέση. Επίσης τα ιερογλυφικά πάνω στις πλάκες ήταν μισό κατεστραμμένα και πιστεύεται ότι ήταν κατάλογοι με τα ονόματα πόλεων που έδιναν φόρους. Σε δύο πλάκες αναφέρονται τα ονόματα των πόλεων [[Βούβαστης]] και [[Βούτος]] που βρίσκονταν στο [[Δέλτα του Νείλου]]. Αυτό δείχνει ότι η επικράτεια του Σκορπιού είχε φτάσει μέχρι το δέλτα του Νείλου και την Κάτω Αίγυπτο. Από αυτή την περίοδο άρχισε η τήρηση αρχείων με [[Ιερογλυφικά|ιερογλυφική]] γραφή.
He is believed to have lived in [[Thinis]] one or two centuries before the rule of the better known [[King Scorpion]] of [[Nekhen]]. To him belongs the U-j tomb found in the royal cemetery of [[Abydos, Egypt|Abydos]] where Thinite kings were buried.
That tomb was plundered in antiquity, but in it were found many small ivory plaques, each with a hole for tying it to something, and each marked with one or more [[hieroglyph]]-type scratched images which are thought to be names of towns, perhaps to tie to [[offering]]s and [[tribute]]s to keep track of which came from which town. Two of those plaques seem to name the Delta towns [[Bubastis|Baset]] and [[Buto]], showing that Scorpion's armies had penetrated the Nile Delta. It may be that the conquests of Scorpion started the Egyptian [[hieroglyph]]ic system by starting a need to keep records and information in writing.

Recently a 5,000-year-old [[graffiti|graffiti]] has been discovered by Professor [[John Darnell]] of [[Yale University]] that also bears the symbols of Scorpion and depicts his victory over another protodynastic ruler (possibly [[Naqada]]'s king).
