The “Eastern Lightning,” according to the Church, is Jesus Christ returning as Almighty God, from a country in the east, China, to inaugurate the third age of humanity, the Age of Kingdom, which follows the Age of Law, i.e. the time of the [[Old Testament]], and the Age of Grace, which went from the birth of Jesus to the advent of Almighty God in the 20th century.<ref>Folk (2018), 64.</ref> With Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, the sins of humans were forgiven, but their sinful nature was not eradicated.
