The “Eastern Lightning,” according to the Church, is Jesus Christ returning as Almighty God, from a country in the east, China, to inaugurate the third age of humanity, the Age of Kingdom (η Εποχή της Βασιλείας), which follows the Age of Law (η Εποχή του Νόμου), i.e. the time of the [[Old Testament]], and the Age of Grace (η Εποχή της Χάριτος), which went from the birth of Jesus to the advent of Almighty God in the 20th century.<ref>Folk (2018), 64.</ref> With Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, the sins of humans were forgiven, but their sinful nature was not eradicated. In the Age of Kingdom, Almighty God is at work to eradicate that sinful nature.<ref>Folk (2018), 61.</ref> In Almighty God’s own words, "Ολόκληρο το σχέδιο της διαχείρισής Μου, ένα σχέδιο που εκτείνεται σε διάστημα έξι χιλιάδων ετών, αποτελείται από τρία στάδια ή τρεις εποχές: στην αρχή η Εποχή του Νόμου, η Εποχή της Χάριτος (που είναι επίσης και η Εποχή της Λύτρωσης) και τις έσχατες ημέρες η Εποχή της Βασιλείας.
