:First of all you made an important clarification: we are talking about half eta, which later developed to δασεία and was used in some alphabets to denote ''spiritus asper''. But I am not sure that what you call "heta" is indeed this half H. In the only table I found mentioning "heta" (with latin characters), the sign next to it was H or similar to 8 (H with two more lines at the top and at the bottom). Since I haven't found anything about χητα, as you first wrote, I have my doubts about this transliteration, it could just as well be {{Πολυτονικό|ἡτα}} (with spiritus asper). The issue is that H (eta, heta or whatever) was in use in several greek alphabets but not with the same meaning. In some alphabets it represented ē (Ionic alphabet) but in most alphabets it represented spiritus asper. After the Ionic alphabet became standard in ancient Greece, H was used only for ē and there was a need for spiritus asper, so eta/heta was divided in half and the left half was used for that purpose. Now, regarding your initial changes: I conclude from what I read (without exhaustive research, though) that heta and eta are the same letter pronounced and used differently in different regions. I am not sure at all what half eta was called, when it started being used. Also I don't know if it is a different letter or just a diacritic, the ancestor of δασεία, and as such should not be included in the alphabet template (as no other diacritics are included).
