Ντέιβιντ Θιούλις

Ο Ντέιβιντ Θιούλις (αγγλικά: David Thewlis‎‎, γεννημένος 20 Μαρτίου 1963) είναι Βρετανός ηθοποιός, σκηνοθέτης, σεναριογράφος και συγγραφέας. Οι πιο επιτυχημένοι εμπορικά ρόλοι του μέχρι σήμερα είναι αυτός του Ρέμους Λούπιν στις ταινίες Χάρι Πότερ και του Ares στην ταινία Wonder Woman. Άλλες σημαντικές συμμετοχές αποτελούν οι ταινίες Naked (κερδίζοντας το βραβείο Α' Ανδρικού Ρόλου στο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου των Καννών), Dragonheart, Επτά χρόνια στο Θιβέτ, The Big Lebowski, Kingdom of Heaven, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, War Horse, The Theory of Everything και Macbeth. Έχει επίσης δώσει την φωνή του στις ταινίες James and the Giant Peach (1996), The Miracle Maker (2000) και Anomalisa (2015). Βιογραφία

Γεννήθηκε ως David Wheeler στις 20 Μαρτίου 1963 στο Μπλάκπουλ του Λάνκασιρ. Είναι ο δεύτερος από τα τρία παιδιά της Maureen και του Alec Raymond Wheeler. Και οι δυο γονείς του εργάστηκαν στο μαγαζί του πατέρα του. Ως έφηβος, έπαιζε σε μια ροκ μπάντα που είχε το όνομα QED αλλά και κιθάρα σε μια punk ροκ μπάντα που λεγόταν Door 66.

Φοίτησε στο Highfield High School, ένα δημόσιο σχολείο στο South Shore του Μπλάκπουλ. Αργότερα σπούδασε μουσική και δραματική τέχνη στο Γκίλντχολ του Λονδίνου, από όπου αποφοίτησε το 1984.

Το 1993 βραβεύτηκε στο φεστιβάλ των Καννών για την ερμηνεία του στην ταινία Γυμνός του Μάικ Λι.

Σκηνοθεσία

Ο Θιούλις σκηνοθέτησε την ταινία Hello, Hello, Hello το 1995, με την οποία ήταν υποψήφιος για βραβείο BAFTA Καλύτερης Ταινίας Μικρού Μήκους. Επιπλέον έγραψε, σκηνοθέτησε και πρωταγωνίστησε στην ταινία Cheeky (2003). Ο Θιούλις είναι επίσης συγγραφέας ; το πρώτο του μυθιστόρημα,The Late Hector Kipling, είναι μια μαύρη κωμωδία που τοποθετείται στον κόσμο της τέχνης και κυκλοφόρησε από τις εκδόσεις Simon & Schuster το 2007.

Προσωπική ζωή

Το 1992, ο Θιούλις παντρεύτηκε την σκηνοθέτη Sara Sugarman ; πήραν διαζύγιο το 1994. Αργότερα είχε μια σύντομη σχέση με την κόρη του Bill Oddie, Kate Hardie. Το 2001, ξεκίνησε μια σχέση με την ηθοποιό Anna Friel, την οποία συνάντησε σε μια πτήση για τις Κάννες. Έχουν αποκτήσει ένα παιδί μαζί. Η Friel και ο Θιούλις χώρισαν στα τέλη του 2010.
