Turkish Stars was formed on [[November 7]], [[1992]], was officially named the Turkish Stars on [[January 11]], [[1993]]. The team flies 8 [[Northrop]] [[F-5 Freedom Fighter]]s, making them one of the few national aerobatics teams to fly supersonic aircraft and the only one which flies 8 supersonic jets. The team's heavily accented and generally humorous announcer often draws much attention to the team.
