Concerning publicity from Grammi S.A,Koskotas had created a colossal press-publishing company who published a daily newspaper ("24 hours",24 ώρες) and 6 magazines while he also purchased three non-state holding newspapers,"Vradini","Evdomi" and the historical ("Kathimerini") from (Helen Vlachos) in 1986 which he politically turned into supporting PASOK.Meanwhile he expressed interest for purchasing "Eleftherotypia".His strong presense in the press was a key fact in the following events.The government saw in his face a very powerful publisher that would support it with exchange the political coverage of his activities.

The publishers of other big greek newspapers feeling threatened from Koskotas rose against him claming that his money came from suspicious illegar acts.In October of 1989 things from Koskotas past started coming out in public (forgery of documents,illegal monetary affairs etc).In those accusations the government denied moving towards a tax check.
