:[[:Κατηγορία:Ρωμαίοι]] suggests that "Ρωμαίοι" is much more used than "Αρχαίοι Ρωμαίοι" and I haven't seen any modern Roman in this category; in Italian too we use "romani" to indicate only ancient Roman people. I think using always "Ρωμαίοι" is ultimately the best solution.
