Στις 23 Μαρτίου 1991 έγινε η βάφτιση της, στο παρεκκλήσι του παλατιού στο Φίσχμπαχ. Ονομάσθηκε ''Αλεξάνδρα'' γιατί άρεσε στους γονείς της, ''Ιωσηφίνα'' από την γιαγιά της, Πριγκίπισσα Ιωσηφίνα-Καρλότα του Βελγίου (η μητέρα του πατέρα της), ''Τερέζα'' από την γιαγιά της, Μαρία Τερέζα Μπατίστα ι Φαγιά (η μητέρα της μητέρα της), ''Καρλότα'' από την προγιαγιά της [[Καρλόττα του Λουξεμβούργου|Καρλότα του Λουξεμβούργου]], ''Μαρία'' από την [[Παναγία|Παρθένο Μαρία]] και ''Βιλελμίνη'' καθώς είναι παράδοση μεταξύ των μελών της οικογένειας του Μεγάλου Δουκάτου του Λουξεμβούργου. Νονοί της ήταν ο Μισέλ, 14ος Πρίγκιπας του Λίγνε και η Αρχιδούκισσα Μαρία-Άννα της Αυστρίας.
Η Πριγκίπισσα Αλεξάνδρα μιλάει Λουξεμβουργιανά, Γερμανικά, Γαλλικά, Αγγλικά, Ισπανικά και Ιταλικά, έχει επίσης ως χόμπι την ρυθμική γυμναστική, το χορό, το τένις, το σκι, το θαλάσσιο σκι και τον αθλητισμό.<ref>{{cite web
