Hello Leonariso, I don't speak greek very well, so I write in English. I think it's not a good idea to create the country entries first in English - this gives a wrong impression of the Greek wikipedia if someone passes by. Hi again. I'm sorry I didn't explain what administrator means. It means you can delete and protect pages, block users, change texts in the user interface and more. Gkastel requested to be an admin for the greek wikipedia. According to the admin page, you are the only active admin here since Optim left. Is it ok to have Gkastel made admin on greek wikipedia ? Please drop a word on my meta page [[m:User:Anthere]] to say so. Gkastel also agrees to be the ambassador of the greek wikipedia (Optim was the previous ambassador, so there is no more now). Ok ? Hello, I thank you for your answer. But I have a problem. User:ank has only been here since the 15th, and user Gkastel for 3 days only. I think it may not be a very good idea to make sysops people who are such newbies. Were they previously known under another identity ? Anthere
Well, in my request to become a sysop I have also indicated that I have not been around wikipedia for long but also that the Greek wikipedia actually does NOT have a sysop. This is so since it is now almost impossible to get around the site if you are a GREEK speaker ONLY. The site needs serious attention which it does not get. Just look at the Main Page. Then it all depends on what you mean by a newbie. Just look at the artcles I have contributed since the 15th of March only. Both numbers and content (even though some are translations). So do us a favour and open up the site to contributors. [[User:ank|ank]]

First, I would like to say that I understand your sadness in this wiki being very small. I hope it goes bigger soon :-) I must tell you than when I started on fr, we have only perhaps 100 articles, and I assure you there were just stubbish :-) We put a lot of work in it. Some days, there were no edits whatsoever. Usually a couplethough.
And at that time, we were in phase I. We had no main page as is currently your page. And we had no sysop for a long time. We had to get some in august 2002, to ban a bad user. Otherwise, we managed :-)
I say this so that you do not feel too lonely. Things will work in the end :-)
Probably not as big that fr and de and mostly en. But it will be precious one day as well, because probably there will be few references in greek, while there are many many in english :-))))
Now, two things you should know the three of you.
The process to name sysops and co is currently changing, and we are just in the middle of it Till now, it was done by developers. Soon it will be done by regular users, perhaps called stewards. But right now, we are in between and it seems no one is moving any more.
Last point, I looked at your main page, and I really see nothing special. Many red links naturally, but explain to me how the fact of being sysop will help them to be less red ?
Also, I do not get that point about the main page needing to be fixed. You do not need to be sysop to fix a main page. Everyone can do so on fr, so why can't you ? Did you protected the main page ??? If so why ?
An idea meanwhile ...trickyin case you want to keep it protected for now
Get the whole main page have only a mediawiki message like {{msg:mainpage}}. then protect the main page. All of you will be able to edit the msg, but no one the main page, and vandals will never find.
Also, I do not understand well why you say the site has no sysop, since leoneriso is one.
IN any cases, as soon as the system is working , someone will set you sysops ant
