For the love of holiness, the people are coming to see GREECE, so IMO Monastiraki is better. I would suggest we pick some traditional Greek taverna with various meze and stuff, and I'd love to see the meeting taking place under the influence of good wine and the sound of bouzouki playing slowly in the background. Mondays are not busy, and we'll probably have the whole joint for ourselves. Crépes aren't that rare in Berlin either. NikoSilver 23:58, 10 Μαρτίου 2008 (UTC)

I suggest that the meeting should not be located in a tavern. It should be a place (probably cafeteria) for comfort conversations so that everyone can talk to everybody as Jonathan says. If it is "Ama Lachei", it is "Ama Lachei"! Let's go there. Whatever! But 1) Why should we stay all the time in this place? Let's follow the Greek way! Let's go from one coffee-food break to the other! Let's not forget that it is spring in Greece now and 2)Have in mind the following things:

• Athens has an excellent weather during this period. "Ama Lachei" is a closed tavern.
• "Ama Lachei" is in Exarcheia, which is not the nicest place of Athens for a person who has never been in our country and our capital. Athens has so beautiful places! Monastiraki (Adrianou in Monastiraki and Apostolou Pavlou streets in Theseio are wonderful in spring) as Nikos said, Theseio, Psyrrh. For instance, "Dioskouri" in Plaka (I mean the Anw Dioskouroi) or the "rakomeladika" in Theseio are outdoors, in open air, much more traditional and we can also enjoy the excellent weather. I also know some more quite places in Theseio with roofgarden, where we can also enjoy the view (Acropolis and Lycabettus at the same time). But these are not so traditional, as Nikos correctly wishes ...

A great advantage of "Ama Lachei" (not the food or the drink of course! I know much better traditional taverns!) is that it is a big and non-crowded place. We do not even have to make a reservation.

In any case, Jonathan don't get upset if we discuss the "issue" until 31 March, 17:59, disagreeing about the place! We are Greeks! But at the end we'll find a way to meet each other and we'll have great fun! Das ist die Griechische Weise!--Yannismarou 16:45, 16 Μαρτίου 2008 (UTC)

Actually, this is the exact problem. But that is not the only reason. Greece is for open spaces, or spaces with a view. Not for closed dungeons in narrow streets. I could suggest Dioskouroi or other mezedo-tavernas in Plaka. Alternatively, I could suggest we go to Vouliagmeni or to Glyfada and watch the Aegean. General directions of the areas have been inserted. I suggest we spot the ideal place after we agree on the location first. "Imprisoned", because during spring in Greece you want to be outside. Especially in the late afternoon. For example, the first thing you'll notice when you land is that all houses have 20% of their area in the form of balconies, and another 20% in the form of semi-open spaces. By law, I might add! We can, of course, change the restaurant several times on that evening, but we should point out one exact starting point (not "several restaurants"), exspecially if nobody of you knows anybody yet :) And - no offense - since I reckon it part of the Greek way not to be punctual, I propose we stay in one place for at least one hour. Yes. I think Yannis' suggestion about changing places will create a mess we don't need. If I used the word "several", I meant it as "many to chose one from" (not as "many to go to in the same evening"). In my opinion it's vain to change the (starting) place at all. We've got one that has been told everybody in various projects, and we don't wanna cause unnecessary confusion by changing it again. But you just said that moving is difficult (and I agreed). My opinion is that we must choose one place, and stay there. That's why I want it to be nice. What I meant to say was: Moving the place where we FIRST meet is difficult. When we're all gathered, we can go wherever we want. It's so simple: We meet at the Ama lachi at 6 PM, then wait until everybody is there, than go somewhere else if requested. Jonathan Groß 08:10, 20 Μαρτίου 2008 (UTC)

2. Dioskouroi (et al.) 13, Dioskouron str. (or in the general area of en:Plaka to the North and East of the Acropolis).
3. Andrianou str. here view towards the Acropolis from the North (scroll map down), numerous restaurants and shops. Not necessarily "touristic", I might add.
4. En plo (Εν πλω), Vouliagmeni here (Poseidonos Av, below Orfeos towards the sea) - probably far for most, but one of the most beautiful locations in Attica
5. The cafeteria on the hill of Lycabetus (all Athens beneath your feet)[1]

Why the same place for the second meeting?!

I see a great love for "Ama Lachei"! The second meeting there again! IMO it would be better to choose one of the 5 other places which have been proposed. I don't see the reason why to repeat the same meeting again in the same place. Anyway, if that is what convenes the majority, and if our German visitors don't want a change, it is fine with me ... In any case, other places with the appropriate roadmaps and addresses (die auch keine Kriminalitat vorweisen, Jonathan!) are proposed.

I also wanted to notify that I'll try to be there today, but I do not know if I'll manage to and for how much time.
