Γιόσιο Νίσι

Ο Γιόσιο Νίσι (西 義郎, 1934-) είναι Ιάπωνας μελετητής της Θιβετοβιρμανικής γλωσσολογίας. Σπούδασε πρώτα γλωσσολογία ενώ ήταν φοιτητής στο Διεθνές Χριστιανικό Πανεπιστήμιο στο Τόκιο, υπό την ηγεσία του Ρόι Άντριου Μίλερ. Μετά τα μεταπτυχιακά του μαθήματα στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Τόκιο και την φοίτηση στο πανεπιστήμιο της Ρανγκούν, δίδαξε στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κιούσου (επίκουρος καθηγητής, Ιούνιος 1969 - Μάρτιος 1972), το Πανεπιστήμιο της Καγκοσίμα (αναπληρωτής καθηγητής, Ιούνιος 1975 - Μάρτιος 1980, καθηγητής, Ιούνιος 1980 - Σεπτέμβριος 1981), το Πανεπιστήμιο του Εχίμε (καθηγητής, Οκτώβριος 1981 - Μάρτιος 1988), και το Πανεπιστήμιο Διεθνών Σπουδών της Πόλης του Κόμπε (καθηγητής, Ιούνιος 1988 - Μάρτιος 1998). Το 1996, όταν το πανεπιστήμιο ίδρυσε το διδακτορικό μάθημα στη μεταπτυχιακή σχολή του, ήταν ο μόνος καθηγητής γλωσσολογίας κατάλληλος να επιβλέπει υποψήφιους διδάκτορες. Τώρα είναι ομότιμος καθηγητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Διεθνών Σπουδών της Πόλης του Κόμπε, και προτάθηκε το 1993 ως διακεκριμένος καθηγητής στο Κεντρικό Πανεπιστήμιο των Εθνοτήτων στο Πεκίνο.
