Ο Νίσαβα είναι ποταμός της Σερβίας, δεξιός παραπόταμος του Νότιου Μοράβα που και αυτός με τη σειρά του είναι παραπόταμος του Δούναβη.

Οι πηγές του Νίσαβα βρίσκονται στη Βουλγαρία, στην οροσειρά του Αίμου,και το μήκος του είναι 218 χιλιόμετρα.

Η λεκάνη απορροής του έχει έκταση 3.950 τ.χλμ^[1].

Η κοιλάδα του ποταμού είναι πολύ σημαντική συγκοινωνιακά από τα αρχαία χρόνια, γιατί δημιουργεί ένα φυσικό πέρασμα από την πεδιάδα του Δούναβη και το Παννονικό βαθύπεδο προς την κοιλάδα του Έβρου και την Κωνσταντινούπολη. Ακόμη και σήμερα από την κοιλάδα διέρχονται η οδική και σιδηροδρομική οδός Βελιγραδίου-Σόφιας και είναι τμήμα του Ευρωπαϊκού Αυτοκινητόδρομου 80 (Ε-80)^[2].
