Αν και η Βικιπαίδεια δεν είναι [[Βικιπαίδεια:Τι δεν είναι η Βικιπαίδεια|έντυπη έκδοση]], τα άρθρα θα πρέπει να είναι γραμμένα με τέτοιο τρόπο ώστε να διευκολύνεται η μεταβίβαση σε άλλες μορφές όπως είναι η έντυπη έκδοση, ο λόγος ή η αναγνωστική οθόνη. Εκφράσεις λοιπόν όπως "το παρόν άρθρο" προτιμούνται έναντι του "αυτός ο διαδικτυακός τόπος", ενώ εκφράσεις τύπου "[[πατήστε εδώ]]" θα πρέπει να αποφεύγονται, καθώς δεν έχουν λογική όταν διαβάζονται σε αναγνωστική οθόνη για παράδειγμα.
